What is your BMI?
The Body Mass Index (BMI) is a measure that uses your height and weight to work out if your weight is healthy. The BMI calculation divides an adult's weight in kilograms by their height in metres squared. For example, A BMI of 25 means 25kg/m2.
This NHS BMI (Body Mass Index) calculator can be used to calculate BMI for children and adults accurately. It can be downloaded to your phone. Once you have your BMI, it gives adults a handy healthy weight range and a suggested daily calorie allowance if you are overweight.
Your BMI is essential to know when thinking about taking the weight loss injection as you have to either:-
- have a BMI of over 30
- have a BMI of over 27 and have one long-term health condition such as high blood pressure or heart disease.
